Other information | Myocardial Infarction patients are referred for cardiac rehabiliation on basis of an elevated troponin.
Since the beginning of November 2007 cardiac surgery patients are seen briefly on the ward by a cardiac rehabilitation nurse and they then receive a follow call 2 weeks after discharge inviting them to participate in the cardiac rehabilitation programme.
Angioplasty patients are required to self-refer. They are given contact details whilst an inpatient.
Heart Failure patients are not routinely accepted. Referrals from a cardiologist or heart failure specialist nurse will be considered.
ICD patients are not routinely accepted but referral from a cardiologist or specialist nurse will be considered. Patients who have an ICD inserted following Myocardial Infarction should automatically be referred to the programme. |
