What to expect
when you come

Patients are individually assessed by a specialist nurse and exercise specialist in our cardiac assessment clinic. They are then offered a menu of rehab options aiming to support them to self-manage their condition, recover from an acute cardiac event and optimise health. Patients are offered cardiac exercise classes, information and discussion sessions, relaxation training, medication advice and prescribing and one to one consultation as appropriate.

We offer either a group programme of 8-12 sessions or a home programme with telephone follow-up from the Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation team. On completion of the programme patients return to our final assessment clinic for review. We can also refer to specialist lifestyle programmes including weight management programmes and smoking cessation, and referrals for psychological well-being.

How long does it take

Each session is 2 hours long, but pts may attend all or some of each session.
