About the Programme

A multiprofessional team delivers a programme of education and exercise for patients after their cardiac event. The programme is delivered on three different sites to improve access for all patients.

The topics covered in the education programme include, recovery after a heart attack or cardiac procedure, information on nutrition, medication, recognizing cardiac symptoms, stress management, increasing your physical activity, returning to previous hobbies, activities, travel and holidays.

Patients are encouraged to bring a relative, friend or spouse to the education group with them.

An individual exercise programme will be devised by the physiotherapist and may be supervised in our gymnasium or at home dependent on your physiotherapy assessment.
