About the Programme

The Mid Essex Hospital Cardiac Rehab team is based at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex. Our team consists of specialist cardiac nurses and exercise professionals, with links to dietician and pharmacy teams. Cardiac Rehab Programmes are run at Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford, St. Michaels Health Centre at Braintree and St. Peter's Hospital at Maldon ensuring easy access to our patients throughout the Mid Essex area.

We offer supervised, circuit based exercise programmes with health education sessions and relaxation. The programme can be tailored to take into account other medical and physical conditions which might limit the ability to exercise ensuring an individualised approach.
For patients unable to exercise we encourage them to attend the education and relaxation sessions.

Our aim is to meet the physical and psychological needs of our patients through improvements in physical fitness and capabilities while increasing confidence to undertake physical activities. We provide information and offer encouragement and support with lifestyle changes and give emotional support to patients and their families.
