About the Programme

Hampshire Hospital Trust offers cardiac rehabilitation to in- patients with advice, education and support complimented with a follow on exercise programme.
It is available at all 4 of our sites:
• Alton Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre
• Andover War Memorial Hospital
• Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital
• Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester
The programme offers individualised exercise classes run by a multi-disciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Nurses and exercise Instructors supported by volunteers. Alongside this are education sessions and advice on such matters as returning to work, stress management, healthy eating, medication and giving up smoking.
We can also provide an individualised Home Programme if appropriate.

What to expect
when you come

The exercise sessions include a 10-15 minute warm up followed by cardiovascular circuit based activities and a 10 minute cool down.

How long does it take

The sessions usually take about one hour and can last from 4 to 10 weeks depending on the needs of the individuals.
