What to expect
when you come

It is a programme facilitated by a specially trained team who are able to support and advise you on risk factor management and exercise enabling you to regain your confidence and return to your everyday activities. All programmes are individualised to meet your needs and goals, we encourage the involvement of family and friends to provide education and support to you all.

All patients have an initial Cardiac Nurse led assessment at the commencement of their programme for symptom and risk factor management. Following this you will be seen by our Exercise Specialist who will then complete an exercise assessment with you and provide your individual plan to enable progression onto one of our programmes.

Home based programmes are supported through telephone contact and/or home visits.

The group programmes are circuit based and although set in a group environment everyone works to their own individual intensity.

You can also attend one of our Heart Information sessions during your programme. These sessions are run once every 12 weeks and form the education component of your Cardiac Rehabilitation and includes information on the support available to you within your local community.
